We have a clear standard for determining whether covering one's mouth constitutes a red card. In a confrontation between two people, during an argument or serious conflict, or when everyone is involved in a conflict, if someone covers their mouth and says something, and the other person reacts very strongly, then it proves that regardless of what you said, their strong reaction indicates that you said something you shouldn't have.
