On August 4th, Beijing time, Arsenal legend and current FIFA Director of Global Football Development, Arsène Wenger, issued a statement regarding Gianni Infantino's failed FFE (Free Free) program, stating that he was not involved in the strategic plan and supported the decision to withdraw the project.

Wenger stated: "The recent events at FIFA warrant some clarification from my perspective."
"At FIFA, I serve as the Global Head of Football Development. Together with my team, I am responsible for match data analysis, the FIFA Online Training Centre, promoting youth education through 60 academies in 60 of the most needy countries, and youth tournaments around the world. In addition, I am a technical advisor to the FIFA Council."
“I was not involved in this strategic plan and first learned about the project through media reports.”
"The decision to withdraw the project was absolutely necessary and beyond doubt, because I firmly believe in an independent FIFA that serves our competition with commitment, transparency and integrity."
