According to a post on social media earlier today by renowned football journalist Ben Jacobs, Saudi Arabia's silence on Gianni Infantino is partly related to the upcoming elections at the end of August.
Ben Jacobs stated that the Saudi Football Federation will hold a special members' meeting on August 30th, after which it will appoint a successor to Yasser al-Mishhar. Yasser al-Mishhar resigned following Saudi Arabia's elimination from the World Cup.
